OFFICIAL PRELIMINARY TO THE PETITE USA PAGEANT
AREAS OF COMPETITION
PERSONAL INTERVIEW 35%
This will be a 5-7 min. panel style interview with 5 judges. The contestant must be in interview attire such as pant suit, skirt, or dress, no jeans.
SWIMSUIT 25% - TEEN, MISS, MS.
This category judges your confidence in swimwear, not only fitness. Swimwear should be tasteful, age appropriate, and in your choice of two piece or one piece. Solid colors, no thongs, no metallic fabrics.
ACTIVE WEAR 25% - MRS. & ELITE
The Mrs. and Elite Ms. Divisions wear Active Wear and Sneakers or Tennis Shoes instead of a Swimsuit. Activewear should be representative of your lifestyle: an Athletic Dress, Tennis Skirt, Leggings, Bicycle Shorts, etc are all appropriate examples.
FORMAL WEAR 25%
Evening gown of the contestants choice to showcase elegance and poise. Formal gowns should be age appropriate and must be floor length.
ONSTAGE QUESTION 15%
Each contestant will be asked an Onstage Question about themself. Answers should be 20-30 seconds. No political, religious, or sexual questions are permitted.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
OPENING NUMBER COCKTAIL DRESS
All contestants will participate in an Opening Production. Each contestant is required to wear a pink cocktail dress in the shade of their choice and nude or tan heels. This does not go towards your total score.
PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT
Each contestant is required to provide a Headshot. This will be used to judge the Photogenic Award and will be used in the People's Choice Award. AI Photos will not be allowed. This does not go towards your total score.
